How can a "recovered" BP be recovered and still have the black/white disfunctional thinking patterns?

Answer:
By "BP" do you mean bipolar? Bipolar disorder is a mood disorder. Cognitive/behavioral therapy to improve cognitive distortions like black and white thinking helps bipolar disorder because without cognitive distortions we have fewer problems to trigger moods, but the two things are not directly related.

It's human nature to have some degree of cognitive distortions such as black and white thinking. If your mood disorder quiets down, you're still human, and therefore still think like a human, so you're liable to notice black and white thinking. At least you can notice that. So many people just think they're totally right about everything while someone else is totally wrong and have no clue that's dysfunctional.
I would like to help but I don't know what a "recovered BP" is.
He means borderline personality disorder.

I don't know the answer to that other than you yourself should know from dbt to watch for the black/white thinking and you can try and reframe the thoughts to make better choices. I think it is about skills.

Go back to counselor and ask them that question. It is a good one.
well are you asking for a bi-polar person or a borderline personaliy. i guess both the answer is it is nature. if you snore can you force yourself to stop?
